Waitomo motor vehicle accident

The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Waitomo Valley Road, west of Te Kuiti on Thursday 11 May, to retrieve a woman in her 60’s who was involved in a motor vehicle crash.
The woman was the sole occupant of one of the vehicles. Accompanied by a close family friend who arrived on the scene to lend support, she was flown to Waikato Hospital in serious condition.
Several passengers from the other vehicle were also transported to Waikato Hospital via road ambulance.

We Need You

Community generosity powers Philips Search and Rescue Trust. The aircraft fleet and life-saving search and rescue feats performed by our crew could not be possible without the ongoing financial support of our Friends members, communities, sponsors and partners.

Collectively, funds generated through the community and sponsorship cover half of the annual expenses required to operate our rescue helicopters in each region; without this extremely generous contribution our life-saving service would not exist.
