You helped save Trevor’s life last year!

Now, this brave 62-year-old is giving back.

Ten months ago, Trevor experienced a harrowing tree-felling accident in the remote Tararua District.

With your help, the Grassroots Trust Rescue Helicopter swiftly came to his rescue, and flew Trevor to Wellington Hospital.

It’s been a long and challenging recovery. But Trevor found his feet again and decided that he wanted to give back.

So, with incredible determination, Trevor embarked on a monumental walk from Dannevirke to Wellington Hospital’s ICU – a total of 270 kilometers.

Trevor, we are so impressed with your dedication, hard work and passion – well done!

Not only did Trevor complete his walk, but he also exceeded his fundraising goal of $15,000, raising an astonishing $30,000 for your Grassroots Trust Rescue Helicopter.

“I wanted to hopefully raise enough funds to cover my rescue, and we exceeded that. Now I can pay it forward to save someone else’s life too!” – TREVOR

Trevor’s son, Daniel, was with him every step of the way. He is so proud of his dad, and said,

“Six months ago, I didn’t think he would be able to do this. I was worried about whether he’d be able to get up out of bed, and go to the bathroom by himself, and now he’s walking 50km a day unassisted.”

We are thrilled at Trevor’s recovery, and we are humbled that he’s chosen to give back in this way.

Thank you so much, Trevor!
