Make a difference

Philips Search & Rescue Trust’s rescue helicopters do not receive any funding from the New Zealand Government. Your local rescue helicopter does have contracts with ACC, DHB and New Zealand Police, but this only covers 47% of the operating costs. This means 53% of this must come from the community. Without community support your rescue helicopter would not be able to remain operational on a 24/7, 365 basis, which would mean a serious delay in people being rescued, or transported to and from hospital facilities for urgent treatment.

Supporting your local rescue helicopters means you will be making a life-saving difference in your community.

Fundraise for Us

Holding an event or organising a fundraising drive for your local rescue helicopter is both rewarding and challenging. We are extremely grateful for all community support received.

When you are organising your fundraiser please let us know so we can provide you with our logo, brochures and photos. We may even be able to offer help, assistance or even promotion.

Talks & Group Visits

We are delighted when Clubs, Groups and Schools want to help or learn more about the work Philips Search and Rescue Trust performs in your community. There are a variety of means to get involved and support your local rescue helicopter. Scheduled hangar visits are a popular way to discover more about the life-saving work undertaken by the helicopter and crew. Organising a fundraiser is always welcome and a great way to increase awareness and raise money to support your local base.

Leave a Bequest

Your legacy is our future.

Every few hours someone needs a rescue helicopter.

Your local rescue helicopter ensures people like you can reach the best possible medical care in the fastest possible time; dramatically improving the chance of survival and recovery. Leaving a gift in your Will means that your local rescue helicopter can continue to save thousands of people each year.

Every year your local rescue helicopters face significant funding challenges. Your decision to leave us a bequest has a huge impact on our rescue service that receives no direct government funding. Many of the missions we carry out are only possible thanks to the gifts left by generous people like you.

Invest in the future of your local rescue helicopter and save lives with a gift in your Will.

We realise that leaving a gift in your Will is a deeply personal decision.  If you are considering making a bequest we want you to know how seriously we regard your decision. We promise you:

We will use your gift wisely.  We promise to use your gift to provide exceptional air rescue and air ambulance services.

We will be available.  We are here and available to answer any questions you may have about our rescue service, how the Trust is run and how your planned gift will be used.

We will respect your privacy.  We promise that anything you discuss with us will be held in confidence.

You can change your mind.  We realise your circumstances and priorities may change and so might your Will.  We completely understand.

Your legacy is contributing significantly to our long-term financial well-being and helps us ensure the saving of lives well into the future.

We Need You

It could be you, your family, friends, staff or patrons that need us. Your support ensures the rescue helicopters are available in your community.

The Philips Search & Rescue Trust’s rescue helicopters can be airborne in 10 minutes, and in a life and death situation, this speed and agility can make all the difference. It is the timely assistance that the rescue helicopters provides that can reduce disability and improve survival - the sooner resuscitation and treatment begins the greater chance of patient recovery.

But the cost of this is huge. Philips Search & Rescue Trust’s rescue helicopters do not receive any funding from the New Zealand Government. Your local rescue helicopter does have contracts with ACC, DHB and New Zealand Police, but this only covers 47% of the operating costs. This means 53% of this must come from the community.

Without community support, your rescue helicopter would not be able to remain operational on a 24/7, 365 basis, which would mean a serious delay in people being rescued, or transported to and from hospital facilities for urgent treatment.

Becoming a supporter of your local rescue helicopters means you will be making a life-saving difference in your community.
