The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Ohakune on Friday 2 June, at around 6pm for a man in his 70’s injured after he came off his mountain bike.
He sustained leg injuries and was stabilised by St John paramedics before being airlifted to Whanganui Hospital.
The mission was completed with the aid of Night Vision Goggles.
The helicopter was then dispatched on Saturday 3 June, at around 11.30 am to a rural property near Tinui, for a man in his 30’s injured after he came off his motorbike.
He was participating in a trail ride when he came off his bike, sustaining chest and head injuries.
He was stabilised by St John paramedics before being airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
