Athenree Gorge crash

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched on 12 October to a car vs truck, head on crash, in the Athenree Gorge.

The driver of the car, a 16 year old Tauranga girl, received critical injuries in the crash, including head, chest, neck and leg injuries.

She was stabilised at the scene by medics before being flown to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.
