The BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was tasked at 9.30 am on Saturday 17 March to Ruatahuna for a 58-year old female who was suffering chest pains. She was flown to Rotorua Hospital for treatment.
The rescue helicopter was then dispatched to the Te Urewera National Park by the Rescue Co-ordination Centre, for a 57-year old male who had fallen from his motorbike and suffered multiple broken bone. Fortunately, the party had a PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) and the rescue helicopter was able to fly directly to the man.
He was flown to Whakatane Hospital for further treatment.
