In the early hours of Saturday morning, the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter responded to the Rescue Coordination Centre. The crew was tasked to the Kaimanawa Ranges for a beacon that had been activated. The patient was located at a remote hut. The man was very unwell throughout the night and require immediate airlifting to Taupō ED.
Around midday, a cyclist had a nasty crash sustaining life-threatening injuries. She was treated and transported to Middlemore Hospital by the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter crew.
