The TECT Rescue Helicopter was tasked to transfer a STEMI (very serious heart attack) patient from Tauranga Hospital to Waikato Hospital for specialist treatment.
The Tauranga man in his 70s was critical and cardiac arrested 3 times while being transported onto the TECT Rescue Helicopter. He was urgently flown to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition while being assessed by onboard Intensive Care Paramedic.
The TECT Rescue Helicopter was then dispatched to Whakatane where a car rolled, ejecting a 16-year-old local girl.
She received multiple injuries as a result and was airlifted to Tauranga Hospital in a serious condition.
