Callout to car accident near Okere Falls

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to a head on crash on State Highway 33, near Okere Falls on Monday 28 November.

A car and van collided head on resulting in multiple patients.

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter flew a young girl around 6-years-old to Waikato Hospital with critical injuries.

A woman in her 30’s was trapped for some time in the car, before she was cut free by the NZ Fire Service. She was then flown to Waikato Hospital by the BayTrust Rescue Helicopter, in a critical condition.
Other patients were taken by St John ambulance to Rotorua Hospital. For further details please contact Rotorua Police.
