Callout to vehicle down steep bank

The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched just after 5 am on Sunday 29 October to Waitotara Valley Rd, where a vehicle had come off the road and gone down a steep bank. The rescue helicopter was able to land below where the vehicle had stopped. On arrival at the scene, the rescue helicopter was able to land and the below where the vehicle had stopped.

A female occupant of the vehicle had suffered suspected head and spinal injuries. She was stablised at the scene by paramedics.  before being flown to Wellington Hospital in a serious condition.
