Car v truck accident, Mamaku’s

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter and the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter were dispatched to State Highway 5 in the Mamaku Rangers on Thursday 17 January.

A car carrying four people was hit side on by a truck.

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter transported the 30 year old male driver of the car to Waikato Hospital with serious head and other multiple injuries.

The Greenlea Rescue Helicopter transported a female passenger who had serious multiple injuries to Waikato Hospital.

Two other female passengers were transported by road ambulance to Rotorua Hospital with moderate injuries.
