On Thursday evening the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Waikite Valley for a male in his 70’s who had been kicked by a horse.
The patient was conscious but had a critical brain injury and facial injuries requiring urgent treatment at the scene provided by the onboard Intensive Care Paramedic.
It was thanks to quick work by the whole team and the ambulance crew that had the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter delivering the patient to Waikato Hospital within an hour of getting the call.
