On Saturday, April 24 the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was tasked with an urgent transfer for a male patient who had suffered severe burns.
The onboard crew transported the patient to Waikato Hospital for specialist care.
They were then tasked to the Pureora Timber Trail for an injured female patient.
Due to no area to land the Intensive Care Paramedic was winched onto the track to provide specialist care to the patient.
The patient was winched from the location and flown to Rotorua hospital for further treatment.
After delivering the patient to hospital the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was again tasked to the Pureora Timber Trail for a male patient in his thirties who had also had sustained head injuries whilst mountain biking.
The male was hover loaded into the helicopter and flown to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
