It was a busy day for the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter as they attended two separate missions .
In the early morning, the on-duty crew for the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter transported a STEMI patient from Whakamaru. Onboard Intensive Care Paramedic’s Rob Keating and Graeme Harvey treated the patient at the scene before transporting to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
In the afternoon the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was called to Whakapapa Ski field together with Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter for two people who had fallen 30m down a cliff.
The onboard Intensive Care Paramedic Rob Keating was hover offloaded to the vicinity of the on-scene RARO team where his patient, who had sustained a back injury was given initial treatment. The 33-year-old female was packaged, and then hover loaded into the aircraft with the assistance of the RARO team.
Greenlea Rescue Helicopter transported the patient to Rotorua Hospital for further treatment.
