Taupo Toyota, providing life saving support

Greenlea Rescue Helicopter and Taupo Toyota have teamed up for another year, a partnership that is helping to save lives.

Taupo Toyota provides a Toyota Hilux ute for use as a rapid response vehicle.  The vehicle is fitted with lights and siren ensuring the team can move quickly and safely through traffic.  This vehicle ensures the rescue helicopter team can respond quickly, getting help to those in need.

The partnership is now in its third year “we are pleased and proud to continue our support of the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter. The job they do in the community is a vital one. The great thing about supporting the rescue helicopter is each and every person can relate to this organisation and it gives us the ability to give back to the entire community.“ said Taupo Toyota’s General Manager, Shaine Pask.

Over the past year, the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter has carried out  218 potentially life-saving missions in the Taupo and Central Plateau region.

Nat Every, Base Manager and Pilot is delighted Taupo Toyota has continued to support the rescue helicopter. “On behalf of the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter team, I would like to express my gratitude to Taupo Toyota.  This vehicle supports our rescue helicopter operations and rapid responses around the Taupo and Central Plateau region.

In our line of work, capability, performance, safety, and integrity are vital, so it is great to be able to associate with the like-minded people at Toyota.”

The Greenlea Rescue Helicopter costs in excess of $1.1 million per year in operational costs and relies heavily on sponsorship and support from local businesses, like Taupo Toyota, and the community they serve.

We Need You

Your support ensures rescue helicopters are available to your community.
Your rescue helicopter can be airborne in 10 minutes and, in a life or death situation, this speed and agility can make all the difference. The timely assistance that rescue helicopters provide can reduce disability and improve survival – the sooner treatment begins, the greater chance of patient recovery.

We are partially funded by a government contract with National Ambulance Sector Office (NASO). We rely heavily on the generosity of sponsors and the community to help fund the shortfall that allows us to be rescue ready 24/7, 365 days of the year. This crucial financial support ensures our rescue helicopter can continue to bring life-saving equipment, rescue personnel, and intensive care paramedics directly to the patient.

Without your support, your rescue helicopter would not be able to remain operational on a 24/7, 365 day a year basis. This could mean a serious delay in people being rescued or transported to hospital for urgent treatment.

Support your rescue helicopter and make a lifesaving difference.
