Head on crash – Waharoa

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched on the evening of Friday 31 August to an incident involving a car and a truck.

It was reported the two vehicles crashed head on just north of Waharoa and the two occupants of the car suffered critical head injuries.

One of the injured was 17 year old female, from Auckland, who was stabilised at the scene by Paramedics before being flow to Waikato hospital in a critical condition.

The second patient was also flown to Waikato Hospital by the Rotorua based Bay Trust Rescue Helicopter.
