On Thursday morning the TECT Rescue Helicopter flew a Tauranga woman in her 70’s to Waikato Hospital for specialist treatment due to a cardiac problem.
Later on in the evening, the on-duty crew was tasked to Opotiki for a 15-year-old local boy who had fallen from a horse. In the panic of the fall, the horse stood on the boy’s foot, seriously tearing the skin.
The young boy was flown to Waikato Hospital for specialist surgery to repair the foot.
