The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Dundas Hutt in the Tararua Forest Park shortly after 10.30am on Friday.
A tramper had fallen multiple times during her previous day while tramping to Dundass Hutt, injuring her ankle and knee. The next day she awoke and attempted to continue hiking, after making it to a series of peaks she found that on decent from she was unable to continue walking due pain.
The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was able landed on a ridgeline to uplift the tramper. She was taken to Palmerston North Hospital for medical treatment.
