At 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon, the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to steep farmland near Kopu, on the Hauraki Plains.
Due to inaccessibility issues, the onboard Intensive Care Paramedic (ICP) was winched down to the injured man who had suffered a bad fall.
After providing medical care to the local man he was winched aboard the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
He was airlifted to Waikato Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.
