The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched early this morning to a 23-year-old male who had suffered a deep laceration after falling through a glass door.
The crew was dispatched, located the scene, and landed in a paddock next to the farmhouse. After treatment at the scene by road ambulance paramedics and our Intensive Care Paramedic, the patient was transported to Whanganui Hospital.
After further assessment, it was decided he needed specialist surgery. The patient was then loaded back into the helicopter and flown to Wellington Hospital.
