At 6pm on Saturday evening the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to the Coromandel township of Manaia where an elderly woman had sustained injuries as a result of a fall.
Initially treated by local St John Ambulance crew the rescue helicopter was called to assist with the woman’s care and provide transport to the hospital from a remote location.
The 80-year-old woman was airlifted to Waikato Hospital for further medical treatment.
