Medical emergency in Pongaroa

The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Pongaroa on Friday14 July, at around midday to a man in his 60’s with a medical emergency.

He was stabilised by paramedics before being airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital in a serious condition.

The rescue helicopter was utilised due to the distance and time from hospital, made worse by the recent weather affecting the roads in the area.
