On Sunday, shortly after 12.30pm the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Santoff Forest located outside of Bulls in the Whanganui/Manawatu region.
A competitor in a motocross endurance event hit a tree stump, speed causing him to come off his machine, flipping over forwards. The 22-year-old male was assessed by the onboard Intensive Care Paramedic -Felicity Lallier.
The status 3 patient had severely injured his lower left leg and required immediate treatment and pain relief before being transported to Palmerston North Hospital.
