The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Halcombe shortly after 1.45pm on Saturday for a motorbike accident.
An 8-year-old boy had been out riding his motorbike with his brother when he crashed. The boy had suspected spinal injuries and his location was remote and far from road access.
Once at the scene, he was treated by the onboard Intensive Care Paramedic before flying him to Palmerston North Hospital for further assessment.
