On Sunday afternoon the TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Whiritoa. Whiritoa is a small beach town on the Coromandel Peninsula between Whangamata and Waihi Beach.
A 52year old Rotorua man had suffered from a heart attack, he was in Whiritoa for the weekend for the first time since the lockdown to tidy up around his batch.
The man was assessed by the onboard Intensive Care Paramedic before being flown to Waikato Hospital for immediate medical treatment.
