The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter undertook three missions on Friday 21 December.
The first, early in the morning, was to Whangamata on the Coromandel Peninsular. A 29 year old Auckland woman had become unwell during the night with suspected appendicitis. She was airlifted to Tauranga Hospital in a moderate condition.
Next up, an inter-hospital transfer for a 75 year old Tauranga woman. She was flown from Tauranga Hospital to Waikato Hospital where she was to undergo specialist surgery for a medical condition.
The rescue team where once again dispatched at around 9.30 pm to a two car crash near Opotiki where three people required transport to hospital.
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter transported a man in his 50s with serious injuries to Waikato Hospital. The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter flew a 54 year old Opotiki woman to Whakatane Hospital in a serious condition.
