On Tuesday the TECT Rescue Helicopter undertook three different missions throughout the day.
The first job was in the morning where the TECT Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Katikati where a local man in his 50s had suffered a heart attack. The man was treated and stabilised under the STEMI pathway before being flown to Waikato Hospital.
The 2nd job of the day was a transfer of a 5-day old baby boy from Whakatane Hospital to Waikato Hospital suffering a reasonably common medical condition discovered at birth.
The last job the TECT Rescue Helicopter attended was to a single-car crash near Katikati where a carload of young people crashed into a power pole, the driver was airlifted to Tauranga Hospital with chest injuries.
