On Wednesday, shortly after 1.30pm the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to State Highway 3 for a truck that had rolled just out of Rotorua.
The male truck driver was trapped in the vehicle and was attended to at the scene by the onboard Intensive Care Paramedic Hugo Goodson. The man was eventually cut from form the cab by Fire and Emergency New Zealand.
He suffered from a serious shoulder injury and was airlifted to Waikato Hospital for immediate medical attention.
