The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched on October 24th, in the early evening, to transport a patient to Middlemore Hospital.
The patient, a 53 year old Taupo man, had fallen from his deck, causing damage to his spine.
He was initially flown from Taupo to Rotorua Hospital, by the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter, where it was established he needed specialist treatment. This flight was carried out with the use of Night Vision Goggles.
The next morning the rescue team were tasked to Te Kaha where a 32 local man had severed an artery. He was flown to Tauranga Hospital in a serious condition.
