Two car crash at Otamarakau

This afternoon Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Otamarakau. Two cars had collided – one car is believed to have lost control on the wet road and collided with an oncoming car.

The driver of one of the cars received critical head injuries as a result of the crash. She was airlifted directly to Waikato Hospital for emergency surgery.

The driver of the other car was taken to Tauranga Hospital by St John ambulance in a moderate.
