On Thursday the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called out to Tuakau for a winch rescue.
The crew was tasked to winch a woman who had fractured her ankle while hiking.
Due to the remote location the winch rescue was the most suitable option to get the woman to the hospital quickly.
She was overseen by the onboard Intensive Care Paramedic whilst being airlifted to Middlemore Hospital.
