At 12:30pm on Sunday 1 November, the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to a winch rescue on the Hakarimata Summit Track in Ngaruawahia.
The crew located a female in her 20’s before winching down the onboard Intensive Care Paramedic to the scene. He assessed the patient, and it was identified that she had broken her leg.
The 20-year-old female was winched out at approximately 1:30pm and transported through to Waikato Hospital for treatment.
