On Saturday the TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to a rural Rotorua farm, shortly after 1pm.
A 44-year-old woman had collapsed while out running on a farm. The woman was in critical condition, cared for, and treated by the onboard Intensive Care Paramedic. The Intensive Care Paramedic performed an RSI on the woman, meaning her breathing was supported and the crew were able to safely transport her to the emergency department at Waikato Hospital.
Later on, in the evening the on-duty crew were dispatched to Matakana Island for a single motor vehicle accident.
A woman in her 50s had crashed her car on a gravel road, the vehicle left the road, rolling a couple of times. The woman received serious shoulder and rib injuries as a result.
The woman was cared for and treated by the onboard Intensive Care Paramedic whilst being flown to Tauranga Hospital for treatment.
