Westpac was first established in New Zealand in 1861 and has since been growing with the nation. It is now one of the largest banks in New Zealand with over 1 million customers nationwide.
Westpac has been supporting New Zealand rescue helicopters since 1981, and is the principal sponsor of the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter, as well as an associate sponsor of the TECT Rescue Helicopter, Greenlea Rescue Helicopter and the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter. Westpac promote and manage the Westpac Chopper Appeal which runs nationwide and aims to raise over $1 million for New Zealand's rescue helicopters each year.
